start with the brief
Put dignity into the wording
Aumex’s awareness content involved a wellness subject where people can feel uncomfortable asking questions. I wrote with direct language and dignity, making the information easier to approach. Respect for the reader shaped the tone as much as the wording.
The person on the other side
People seeking clear, respectful information about a stigmatised wellness category.
where the words had to work
What the words had to get right
Coy wording can make a sensitive subject harder to understand. A careless tone can make someone stop reading. The work had to offer clarity while preserving the reader’s dignity.
the thinking behind the sentences
The decisions inside the draft
I treated the reader’s questions as valid and worth answering. That guided a voice that could be direct without becoming judgemental.
Plain wording reduced the distance between the person and the information. The awareness content needed to make the conversation easier to enter.
